The reason is this: If gay people are born gay it means its genetically determined. This is incompatible with evolution because gay people do not reproduce.
Therefore if being gay or lesbian was in fact genetic the theoretical "gay gene" would have been eliminated over time through evolution.
Therefore being gay is a choice seeded in emotion. Not something you are genetically predisposed to or born with.
